Lights Around OKC
Last night my sister and I drove around Oklahoma City and toured some of the lights you can see for free by just driving around. Of course, I took pictures and I’m going to share what I’ve seen.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Lights
Along Western Ave near 63rd St you’ll drive by Chesapeake Energy’s bright LED lights. You can get out and walk around the grounds to see even more lights. However, all you will see are lit trees.
Automobile Alley’s Lights
A quick drive along Broadway from NW 4th to NW 10th, and you’ll see the lights that Automobile Alley has to offer. Pretty simple display to see while on the way to the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
Myriad Botanical Gardens
Here at the Myriad Botanical Gardens, we saw a wide variety of lights. One can even go inside the garden for more lights. The garden was closed when we went there, but the outside was still lit up.
Musical Lights on Olie and 19th
Now, the best for the last. We just stumbled along this gem via total dumb luck. On the corner of 19th and Olie, there is a house with a light show. However, if you turn your car’s radio station 101.1 FM, you’ll discover that the lights are synced up to music. A corner across from the house is an empty parking where you could park to watch the lights for awhile. There are also many houses in the neighborhood that have interesting lights as well so included a picture of one of those houses in this batch.
Those were the lights we saw that night. I’m sure there are lots of great lights to see. A drive through Nichols Hills along Penn ave. will turn up some impressive lights as well. Go out there and make your own adventure of lights.
