5 Highlights of the July 2014 H&8th Night Market
Touted as the largest monthly food truck event in the U.S., H&8th Night Market attracted approximately 35,000 attendees in June. Presented by Fowler Toyota of Norman, H&8th Night Market is a monthly, family- and pet-friendly street festival built around a lineup of the city’s top gourmet food trucks and live music on the last Friday of each month.
Besides there being no cost to attend, here are six reasons to go to the July 2014 H&8th Night Market.
Food trucks confirmed include: 2 Brothers Bistro, Back Door BBQ, Big O’s Spuds, 2 Chefs on Wheels, Hot Dogs Locos, Katiebug’s Shaved Ice, Big Truck Tacos, Café Bella on Wheels, Chick N Wangs, , El Reno Original Fried Onion Burgers, Epic Pops, Frank’s Wurst, G’s Chili Company, Green & Grilled, Hawk’s Hot Dogs, The Hall’s Pizza Kitchen, Burrito Bandido, Opa’s Schnitzel Wagen, Huey’s Shave Ice, The Hungry Duckling, Jerky.com, Kaiteki Ramen, Kosmos BBQ, La Gumbo Ya Ya, Lalo’s I Love My Taco Chop & Grill, The Loaded Bowl, Mexiasian Fusion, Mexi Dog, Moto Chef, Mutt’s Hot Dogs, Nilima’s, Off The Hook Seafood & More, Pagoda Pizza, Iceberg Italian Ice, Pie on the Fly, Roxy’s Ice Cream Social, The Saucee Sicilian, Smokin’ Okies, Stella Reaux, Stillwaffles, Super Juice, Tacos El Patron, Taco N Ganas, Taste of Soul Chicken and Waffle, Taste of Soul Eggroll and Wild Al’s.
Elemental Coffee will serve coffee and tea, and COOP Ale Works will offer craft beer.
Art rock band Feel Spectres will headline the musical lineup at the next H&8th Night Market!
Live music on the main stage will feature garage rock duo Cosmostanza at 7 p.m., rock/soul/pop band The Wurly Birds at 8 p.m., rapper L.T.Z. at 9 p.m. and art rock band Feel Spectres at 10 p.m. Feel Spectres will release a new album, Meet Your Double, in August.
A voter registration zone will debut this month at 723 N. Hudson Ave. (SW corner of 7th and Hudson), and will continue through the end of the H&8th Night Market season in October. The space is donated by Scott Smith and Corsair Companies.
“Everyone has an opinion on how they want this state to grow. Every voice matters. Every vote counts. Get involved. Vote. That’s our message,” said Jonathan Fowler, vice president of operations for Fowler Holding Co. “H&8th is for everyone to enjoy with their families and friends, so we don’t have any interest in supporting a partisan agenda of any kind, our goal is simply to empower the tens of thousands of people who attend each month to be actively involved in influencing decisions that impact our city and state.”
This month’s 7th Street retail shopping village, curated by Ashley Terry, will include: The Plant Shoppe, Born and Raised OK Sweet Treats, The Clad Stache, Group Fly, The Little Bubble, Shanna Banana, Trade Men’s Wares, JL Woodworx, The Okay See and Shop Good.
The deadCENTER Film Festival will screen a family-friendly selection of comedy shorts starting at 9:30 p.m. at NW 9th Street
The intersection will also include activities with the OKC Energy FC professional soccer team, a water park by Ozarka Water Company and the 21-to-enter Night Lounge.
