With the upcoming holiday shopping season and the release of my movie, District Up!, I’m publishing a series of gift guide articles on district shopping. This shopping guide on Western Avenue was written for those looking for special gifts, who don’t want to deal with the malls, and have suggestions for multiple ideas within an area. 4201 N. Western Avenue, Oklahoma City

5850 N. Classen Blvd, Oklahoma City
Part of Classen Curve, On a Whim is an upscale specialty store featuring baby, fashion, gift, and gourmet food departments. Gina Bennett and Debbie Trachtenberg opened the store in 1998. Since then, the store has expanded from 800 square feet to 5500 square feet and is ranked in the top ten of largest women-owned businesses in the state of Oklahoma.

Uptown Kids is two stores in one with Uptown Candy. The store is a high-end children’s store specializing in clothing, shoes, accessories and gear in Oklahoma City for the kid who wants to stand out in a crowd.
3621 N. Western Avenue, Oklahoma City

When I stopped by 42nd Street Candy Co, they were working on getting thier holiday goodies out. They offer candy by the bag, box, basket, or buffet! They’re across the street from A Date with Iris.
