The 2nd Annual Oklahoma BBQ Championship “Festival of the Pig,” sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society, features great BBQ, craft beers, classic car show “BBQ & Cars” and live music! BBQ competition teams include both novice and veteran “Pitmasters!” Over $10,000 in cash prizes awarded!

The Oklahoma BBQ Championship has secured the services of Arlie Bragg to coordinate the competition. Bragg is considered one of the premier experts in the competitive barbecue world. Oklahoma City’s event will be one of about 12 competitions that Bragg will oversee this year.

The winner of the Oklahoma BBQ Championship will advance to the American Royal, the World Series of Barbecue in Kansas City. The Oklahoma BBQ Champion will also be eligible to receive an invitation to the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue in Lynchburg, Tenn.

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma receives a portion of the tickets sales for the festival!

The Art of Brunch brings a chef-curated menu of sweet and savory foods, plus coffee creations, signature cocktails and bottomless mimosas together for an unforgettable event in Campbell Art Park. Dance to the Cuban beats of a live 10-piece band, Orquesta D’Calle. Dine among tropical decor from Calvert’s Plant Interiors and New Leaf Florist. Explore activities with a drink in hand. Most of all — bring your friends and enjoy this breezy-yet-lively party in the park!

The Riverwind Casino presents the monthly music and food truck festival series, Beats and Bites. The free, family-friendly event features a variety of food trucks, vendors, children’s games, beer garden, and live entertainment.

Held on once a month on Saturdays throughout the summer, Beats and Bites Festival Dates for 2019 are June 8, July 6, and August 10.

Beats and Bites is held on the west end parking lot of Riverwind Casino.

The festival is free, open to the public and will be held in the casino’s west parking lot from 6 pm to 10 pm. There will be more than a dozen local food truck options and vendors. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and can bring umbrellas. Pets and outside food and beverages are prohibited. The event will be held rain or shine.

OKC BLACK EATS, is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Black Foodie Summit featuring Chef Ja’Nel Witt, Season 11 Winner of Hell’s Kitchen, at Bistro46 located at 2501 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City 73111 in the historic Northeast Oklahoma City. The food expo is schedule to begin at 12 noon – 6 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2019.

The growth of the 2nd Annual Black Foodie Summit will provide considerable social awareness and economic growth for local business owners and community programs, a worthy experience for all Oklahomans. The Black Foodie Summit will also offer an appeal to a target audience of affluent urban consumers consisting primarily of millennial professionals and alumni members of Greek-Lettered organizations, civic groups and entrepreneurs between the ages of 27 – 55.

Since 2017, OKC BLACK EATS has been supporting locally owned restaurants in OKC Metropolitan Area. With support from business owners and members of the community, OKC BLACK EATS programming has generated $110,000+ in sales revenue and bottom-line profits for business owners. Business owners are able to reinvest profits into their business, attract new customers and create incentive programming. Our business-to-business strategy has uncovered 45 Black-owned restaurants, 11 culinary trained chefs, 19 food trucks, & 31 home-based caterers in OKC Metro.

Our mission is to continue stimulating the local economy by circulating local dollars in predominately African/Black American communities; dedicated to producing events, culinary education, and catering employment to enhance awareness of health and social change. OKC BLACK EATS aims to embrace community service and partnerships to encourage cultural diversity and upward mobility.

Over the past 2 years, OKC Black Eats events have gained a reputation for its focus on community participation and issues relevant to social causes. Many special guest appearances have included media features and mentions in The Oklahoman, OKC Gazette, Fox 25, KOCO 5, Voyage Dallas Magazine, Community Talk Radio, numerous regional podcasts, in addition to a host of tastemakers, radio personalities and celebrities. Additional support has included The OKC Thunder, Oklahoma Contemporary Museum, Allied Arts, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Oklahoma, OKC City Councilwoman Nikki Nice.
