For this week’s Something Sunday, I’m cheating by ranting on about Braum’s milk. It’s awesome. Seriously, if you drink milk head to your nearest Braum’s store and get some unless you already have some in your fridge.

Why is it so good?

Well, several reasons. Braum’s has this unique vacuum processing system which removes a third of the water from the milk. This concentrates it thus giving it a better taste and making it healthier for you. They don’t inject their cows with hormones, such as rBGH, to stimulate milk production nor do they add antibiotics to their cow’s feed. On top of all that, the milk is produced in Oklahoma and according to their web site, the milk can come fresh from the cows and into their stores within 24 hours. This whole process makes their milk super fresh and it lasts much longer.

Also, I’m pretty sure that leprechauns are involved.

Anyway, that is a wrap for this week’s featured product. I need to find and “sample” some cookies with my Braum’s milk for next week’s article. Purely professionally speaking of course.

Merry Christmas, everyone! How about that snow yesterday? It took me an hour and a half to get home from work when it normally takes 20 minutes. To everyone that got out of their cars and helped push people, thank you! It seemed like the only way to get anywhere was to get out of your car, push the car in front of you, then drive a bit to get stuck yourself and wait to be pushed. Well, here’s a few holiday items to cheer you up.

Time is running out to buy a gift for Christmas, but don’t panic, I’m here to give you some crazy and unthought-of gifts that actually wouldn’t be so bad to give or receive. As with any gift suggestion list, it helps if you know what the person does and doesn’t own. This list is also good for other occasions as well. However, enough of the obvious. Let’s get to the list and why each item would make an awesome gift.

Click here to continue reading unthought-of gift ideas

Safe / Fireproof Container
For one Christmas I bought my Dad a safe. Safes can lean towards the expensive side. I believe I spent around $100 on the one I bought and it can be bolted to the floor. My parents use it to store all sorts of documents and they love it. If a safe isn’t practical, go for a fireproof container. The receiver would be able to safely store irreplaceable items such as photographs and other trinkets.

Zombie Survival Items
Hey, you never know when a zombie outbreak could happen, so pick up a copy of the Zombie Survival Guide as a gift. The book gives detailed plans for the average citizen to survive zombie uprisings of varying intensity and reach. There’s also a Zombie Survival Kit out there that includes a protective mask, gloves, cleansing wipes, and sanitizing gel. Feel free to add a machete, a leatherman multi-tool, gas container, matches, fire axe, and other offensive items along with this present. Here’s a suggestion: get some friends in on this gift to add something to the package.

Fire Extinguisher (with cookbook or stripper for fun)
Okay, so a fire extinguisher is not something you’ll ever see as a holiday door buster item, but if the person doesn’t own one, he or she will gladly accept it. Though, you should do something fun along with it, like have it delivered by a fire officer stripper. You can also be funny by giving this gift along with a cookbook. Everyone should have at least one fire extinguisher at home. Fire protection experts recommend one for the kitchen, the garage, and workshop. A small can be brought for under $50. Not a bad deal to save your place from catching on fire because you screwed up in the kitchen.

Bubble Wrap
Bubble wrap is awesome. Period. It’s fun to play with and it’s useful too. Not only does bubble wrap keep fragile items safe, but it also works as a great window insulator for when it’s cold. Read this for installation instructions and this for the science.

Season Passes
Give the gift of adventure with a season pass to the person’s favorite theme park, Music Theater, or sporting event. I know that Frontier City and the Lyric Theatre are selling passes right now.

Money Toilet Paper
If you’re leaning towards just getting them cash, how about a roll of money themed toilet paper? I bet the person doesn’t own that.

Eyeglass Cleaner
If the person wears glasses, then get some eyeglass cleaner. LensCrafters has a great starter kit that includes towels, spray, and pre-moistened towelettes. If you happen to get them some lens cleaning supplies and they don’t own any glasses, inform the receiver that they can be used to clean his or her cellphone or computer screen. Then smack and tell them to buy sunglasses as everyone should own a pair of sunglass. However, do not buy them sunglasses as people are very picky about their glasses. A gift card to say like Sun Glass Hut wouldn’t hurt.

Cardboard Boxes
I had bubble wrap on this list, so why not cardboard boxes? This gift would be better suited for a child. To show that you’ve put some thought into this gift, print up some craft suggestions.

Car Emergency Kits
This is another gift you hope the person doesn’t have to use, but it’s great to own. At some department stores, such as Sears, you can find various car emergency kits for different situations, like flat tires or a dead battery. They’re usually not too expensive either.

Costumes
This can be dirty for between couples or innocent if getting a kid something fun to play in. Tread carefully with this one.

Forget the human! Give to the pet instead!
If you don’t know the person too well, but know that he or she owns a pet, consider getting a gift for the pet instead. It’s hard to go wrong with treats, though make sure it is fully eatable.

Final Tips for Brain Storming Ideas
Well, I’m running out of suggestions that don’t get much thought. Consider home deco items, any gadget that’s solar powered, or something that will make the person laugh. Perhaps, I’ll update this list later on with more ideas. If you have a unthought-of gift suggestion, share it in the comments.

For starters, I’m sure that you know tomorrow is Black Friday. Black Friday.net has listings for every major retailer’s sales. I don’t know about any local small businesses doing anything special, but it couldn’t hurt to swing your favorite small stores.

For dessert, I have a few YouTube videos worth sharing below.
