If you’re in the mood for something extreme or adventurous, then this episode will be for those that live on the edge. You won’t need to sign a liability waver to watch this episode, but you will if you’re fun enough for either the indoor/outdoor rock climbing gym, Rocktown, or the wake sports park, MAWI. If you’re curious, we’ll break down pretty much everything there is to know on these places so you can get started.

Mid America Wake Sports I-35

Location: 901 E Camp Dr. in Guthrie, OK 73044
Phone Number: (405) 478-5668
Web Site: In development.
Mid America Wake Sports I-35, or MAWI, is wake park where instead of being pulled by a boat for wakeboarding, knee boarding, or wake skating, you’ll actually pulled around the lake by a pulley system.

TIP: Always call ahead and make sure the park is open for the day as it could be down for maintenance, improvements, or low water levels. Also, at this time part of the path to MAWI is unpaved, so keep that in mind for your car as you travel there.

Rocktown Climbing Gym

Location: 200 SE 4th Street in Oklahoma City, OK 73129
Web Site: rocktowngym.com
Although the trip to Rocktown can be an adventure, the real thrill is taking a climb in their indoor climbing gym or on an outdoor route if you’re skilled and brave enough. Don’t be intimated as Rocktown does hold beginner classes and they contain some short and easy routes along with the more challenging ones.

TIP: If new, call ahead and find out when the new climber classes begin for the day. Of course, bring a friend as you will need two people to climb. Save some time by visiting the Rocktown web site and print off the liability waiver.
