Genre Arts Festival
Revel in the unique and strange with the Genre Arts Festival at Living Arts in Tulsa. In 22 years, the New Genre Arts Festival has maintained a commitment to bringing avant-garde into the forefront.

WHAT IS NEW GENRE?
New Genre refers to non-traditional forms of art, which are experimental and fresh. The New Genre Festival presents a diverse range of artists, many of whom cross disciplinary lines, to create exciting new artworks. These works push the limits of traditional media while incorporating the new media made possible by today’s technology.

UNTITLED, OH. #8
Installation
by KYLE TRIPLETT (RUSTON, LA)
Opening – First Friday, March 3, 2017
This installation will conceptually and visually explore elements of place through layers of mediated and remediated information that relate to the natural and the artificial experience of landscape. The exhibition will combine the tangible physical qualities of clay objects and tiles with the ephemeral characteristics of digital media, specifically digital video projection. The installation will be large in scale using the entire allotted space. Installation continues through March 25.

WE ARE ALL CONNECTED, ELEMENTALLY
Installation – Holographic Work
By SALLY WEBER (AUSTIN, TX)
Opening – First Friday, March 3, 2017
In this exhibition, the elements carbon, gold, and iron are integrated with works of light. Early alchemists believed metals matured in the ground, transforming over time from base metals to the royal metals, silver, and gold. Their intent was to carefully transmute metals from one stage to another speeding up the process. Iron, the most abundant metal in the universe, is the actual transformative metal. Its fusion in the core of a star triggers a supernova and the subsequent creation of all the heavier metals including silver, gold, uranium and plutonium and is fundamental to the earth and all life. Installation continues through March 25.
