Glitter Ball, the winter dance party and art extravaganza presented by Dunlap Codding and benefiting deadCenter Film, returns to historic Film Row on Friday, January 26. This year’s party features a Glam Rock theme with more music, dancing, and visual spectacle than ever before.
“Glitter Ball is the party of the season for downtown Oklahoma City. And, it is particularly rewarding to support deadCenter, an arts organization that does awesome work throughout the state from their home base across the street on Film Row.”“Dunlap Codding is thrilled to serve as presenting sponsor and host of this fabulous event for the fourth year in a row,” said Douglas Sorocco of Dunlap Codding. “Glitter Ball is the party of the season for downtown Oklahoma City. And, it is particularly rewarding to support deadCenter, an arts organization that does awesome work throughout the state from their home base across the street on Film Row.”
This year at Glitter Ball, deadCenter Film will honor both Cacky Poarch and Melissa Scaramucci with its prestigious Festival ICON Award. Poarch and Scaramucci were at the helm of deadCenter Film Festival from 2003 -2010 and continue to play a substantial role in the success of the organization.
“No two people are more deserving of an award from deadCenter than Cacky Poarch and Melissa Scaramucci,” according to Executive Director Lance McDaniel. “These two women took over a small local festival in its third year and turned it into one of the most respected regional film festivals in the world.”
As with previous incarnations of the event, now in year four, producer Kindt Steven Myers will erect a massive tented structure at the Dunlap Codding property along Film Row to create the winter wonderland. The event will feature a variety of live performances, a massive dance floor, heavy hors-d’oeuvres, and premium bar, along with several signature surprises.
“We’re creating a magic wintry spectacle,” said event producer Kindt Steven Myers. “We have suspended aerialists 22-feet high from igloos, brought real snowfall, and seen stage performances our city is still raving about. With this year’s Glam Rock theme, absolutely nothing is beyond imagination.”
Tickets are $100 for general admission and VIP seated tables are available starting at $1,000. Tickets may be purchased online. Glitter Ball attendees are eligible for a discounted stay at 21c Museum Hotel the night of the event. Proceeds will benefit deadCenter Film.
