OKC District Scavenger Hunt
This October 15th, with a car and a smart phone, you can enjoy an interactive scavenger hunt inside locally owned businesses across six of OKC’s most popular districts, and maybe win a $1,000 cash grand prize.
“This isn’t Pokémon Go,” says Caleb McCoy, founder of Moonlark Mysteries and the creator of the scavenger hunt. “This is an interactive experience unlike anything ever attempted in OKC.”

The event begins at The Paramount in Film Row and will lead participants through the Plaza District, Midtown, Bricktown, Uptown, and a sixth mystery district. You can begin the hunt anytime from 11am to 4pm on October 15th.[/pullquote-right]As Mr. McCoy describes, this hunt won’t take place in public parks like Pokémon Go or the old BC Clark scavenger hunts. Rather, this hunt will require the participants to enter inside local businesses, find hidden clues, and speak secret code phrases with employees, all the while solving riddles and puzzles. It may also be one of only a handful of events with inter-district support.
The scavenger hunt revolves around a short mystery written by Mr. McCoy about a man, Dale, searching for his son who was kidnapped by the evil Lord Moonlark. As you progress through the local businesses, you are immersed deeper in layers of mystery and suspicions as you discover more about the true nature of Lord Moonlark, his connection to OKC, and Dale’s career working on the secretive Serapis Project.
“The story is family-friendly, but it isn’t family-oriented,” Mr. McCoy clarifies. The website claims that, if the story was a movie, it’d be rated PG-13.

When asked about what inspired him, Mr. McCoy responded, “I just like creating the events I’ve always wanted to attend. Somewhere along the way, I decided to stop waiting for someone else to create the fun stuff.”
