Songs & Short Films: An Evening of Oklahoma Film and Music is presented by T. Hodge Lodge, Inc. and will take place Saturday, August 5th at 7 pm at The State Theatre in Harrah, OK. The event will blend original music by Oklahoma Uprising with award winning short films made in Oklahoma.

The event is all ages but parents should be warned there is some strong language in some of the films. Doors open at 6 pm and advance tickets can be purchased online in advance for $6 and at the door the day of the show for $8. There will be concessions, beer, wine, band merchandise and free gourmet popcorn from the Popcorn Fharmacy. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticket Storm, any Buy4Less location, or at the door the day of the show.

The Short Films
The film Writer(s) (2017) directed by Dominique McCollum and Arvin Sepehr and written by Arvin Sepehr received People’s Choice Award at Tulsa 24 Hour Film Race and follows a man’s struggle with inner conflict as he fights the burden of writers block. The Briefcase (2017) written and directed by Sam Staudt is a science fiction film that was awarded honorable mention at Bedford’s International Film Festival in 2017. The film is action packed with twists that won’t fail to surprise the viewer. The Bra’d Squad (2015) directed by Patrick Kirk is a comedy film that received first place for Best Film in Oklahoma City’s 2015 48 Hour Film Project as well as many other awards. It follows a “Charlie’s Angel”-style plot with a heavy dose of comedy. Nothing Depends On This (or Venus in Transit) (2016) directed by Aaron Souders and Stephen Tyler written by The WAFTI Show team is an adventure/comedy about a step mother’s battle with her arch nemesis. Many Oklahoma City landmarks and local businesses were used as settings in the film. It was produced during the 48 Hour Film Project in Oklahoma City by Mostly Harmless Media.

The event is conceived and organized by Oklahoma Songwriter Joel T. Mosman and Travis Hodge of T. Hodge Lodge, Inc. Mosman recently received 2nd place in the 2017 Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest and has released an EP called Bridges & Borderlines and is available for download at OklahomaUprising.com.
