In this performer question and answer session, I speak with Feathered Rabbit, who will be performing a free show at the The Norman Music Festival. Since this is the sixth festival, here are six questions to get to know the performers.

1. For those unfamiliar, how would you describe yourselves and your music?
Well what do you get when you put a Leo, a Sagittarius, a Libra, a Scorpio and an Aquarius all together? Well, You’d get a number of things… But in this case, you get Feathered Rabbit. We’ve always had a bit of trouble describing ourselves. Mainly because we’ve strived to create a sort of fusion. This fusion could include influences anywhere from miller light, totally ranch munchies, cough drops, soft rock, hard knocks, sock hoperas, top docks. A slow burning process in which no ointment is given. The best and, most importantly, the worst of ourselves.

2. What songs do you recommend that best represent you?
“She’s a Lady Tiger”- Ball and Scrotes “Hold that Tiger”- Fabian “Ride of the Tiger”- Dio

3. What’s your song writing process?
Unlike many bands, we begin by certain members bringing parts of a song to the whole group. We then take those parts and work on them together until a whole song shapes up and then we practice and change the parts until the song is finalized. Then we scrap it and start over.

4. What are your thoughts on the Norman Music Festival?
It is neat. Like really neat. We enjoy it almost as much as totally ranch munchies. We wish it was every day.

5. In general, what inspires you?
Specifically dew drops and apple pops.

6. Anything else you want the public to know about you?
We’re just here to have a good time and write some tunes that hopefully touch some people in unexpected ways.

The sixth Norman Music Festival is from April 25-27, 2013. Read more Q&As from performers in the festival, present and past, here.
