10 Things to Know About H&8th Night Market 2014 Premiere
H&8th Night Market returns for its 2014 season with an expanded list of the city’s most celebrated mobile kitchens, a statewide musical lineup and busking zones, Energy FC pro soccer players, live poetry and a native gardening experience from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at the corner of Hudson Avenue and N.W. 8th Street in Midtown.

Presented by Fowler Toyota of Norman, H&8th Night Market is a monthly, family- and pet-friendly street festival built around a lineup of the city’s top gourmet food trucks on the last Friday of each month. There is no cost to attend.
Food trucks confirmed: 2 Brothers Bistro, Adolini’s Pizzeria, Big Truck Tacos, Back Door Barbecue, Cafe Bella on Wheels, Chick N Wangs, Crepe Brewers, El Reno Original Fried Onion Burgers, Frank’s Wurst, Green & Grilled, The Hall’s Pizza Kitchen, Huey’s Shave Ice, Jerky.com, Kaiteki Ramen, Kosmos BBQ, La Gumbo Ya Ya, Lalo’s I Love My Taco Chop & Grill, The Loaded Bowl, Mexiasian Fusion, MotoChef, Off The Hook Seafood & More, Pagoda Pizza, Pie on the Fly, Roxy’s Ice Cream Social, The Saucee Sicilian, Smokin’ Okies, Tacos El Patron, Taste of Soul Chicken and Waffle, and Taste of Soul Eggroll.
Neighborhood restaurant Ludivine will offer a sneak peak of potential menu items for a new restaurant concept planned to open in Oklahoma City later this year. There will be a selection of 3-course options for $40 with open seating, and customer feedback will be encouraged. Reservations are also accepted. Call 405-778-6800 for more information.
Elemental Coffee will serve coffee and tea, and COOP Ale Works will offer craft beer.
Norman singer-songwriter John Calvin will kick-off the live music at 7 p.m., followed by Tulsa-based Paul Benjaman Band at 8 p.m., Kyle Reid and The Low Swingin’ Chariots at 9 p.m. and Kierston White with the Tequila Songbirds (Ali Harter, Elizabeth Forsythe and Kaitlin Butts) at 10 p.m.

There will be a meet and greet with players from the Energy FC pro soccer team from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elemental Coffee, 815 N. Hudson Ave., and from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. the players will lead a game of soccer golf on the Federal building lawn.
Local poets Timothy Bradford and Chad Reynolds with Short Order Poems will create live, original poetry for attendees on vintage typewriters for $5 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Nature Conservancy, 408 N.W. 7th St., will host a native gardening experience from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. with special guest Marilyn Stewart from Wild Things Nursery. At “Nature at Night: Get Wild Oklahoma, Go Native!” attendees can learn about plants native to Oklahoma and the benefits of incorporating them into your home garden.
