Continuing my posts of the Deep Deuce District, I’m writing today about the Deep Deuce Grill (323 NE 2nd St, Oklahoma City). I’ve been to the American pub grill casually for drinks and late snacks with friends in the past and I’ve always had a good experience. I have found memories with friends by their outdoor fire pit. I recently got reacquired with Deep Deuce Grill when I went on a Foodie Foot Tour. During this tour and another visit later on with friends, I sampled various foods from their new menu.
The Chicken Enchilada Dip ($10) was an amazing starter. It’s not your boring chips and queso. No, this baby was served in a bowl lined with corn tortillas, filled with yummy, yummy cheese sauce, chicken, tomatoes, and avocado. It packed some serious flavor.
Naturally, being a pub, Deep Deuce Grill had juicy, greasy, pub burgers. The Tres Chili Burger ($11.50) had jalapeños rolled in with the meat along with serranos, green chilis, lettuce, tomato, chipotle aioli, and pepper jack cheese. A burger where things are meshed together with the patty is, as Martha Stewart would say, a good thing.
While I was the the Fooddie Foot Tour, they brought a special sampler platter version of the Doc Haywood Dagwood for the group to try out. Carnivores will love the Doc Haywood Dagwood ($12). It’s a triple decker sandwich stacked with bacon, ham, turkey, roast beef, cheddar, swiss, provolone, lettuce, tomato and layered with a bacon aioli.
I’ve liked everything I’ve tried and everyone that I’ve been with has enjoyed their food as well. For watching a Thunder game or food with friends, Deep Deuce Grill proved itself to be a great place to eat.
