Murder For Two at Lyric Theatre
Direct from New York comes the musical murder mystery comedy, Murder For Two, now playing at Lyric Theatre until April 12, 2015. To solve the mystery of why you should see it, I questioned Lyric Theatre’s artistic director, Michael Baron, about the show.
What five words would you use to describe Murder For Two?
Hysterical, clever, fast-paced, musical, mystery
Now, using more than five words, what’s it about?
The show is a tour de farce in which two actors, who both play the piano, take on the roles of detective and accomplices in a classic murder mystery. This show is especially funny, due to the modern sense of humor, and theatrical ingenuity of the production. It’s delightful from beginning to end. We’re excited to bring this show to Lyric direct from its hugely successful and highly acclaimed off-Broadway run.
What are some unique aspects of Murder For Two?
The show is particularly unique in that the performers not only are fantastic singers and actors, but also are virtuoso pianists. Audiences are amazed at their skill all they while laughing at their antics.
Why should one see it?

Anything else you want people to know?
I think audiences will be surprised at the show’s love for classic murder mysteries and it’s ability to have a sense of humor that people can relate today. It’s almost as if your favorite sitcom characters, like those in How I Met Your Mother or 30 Rock, decided to put on a show. It’s that kind of fun sense of humor and entertainment.
