During a road trip to visit the Arbuckle Wilderness, we stopped for lunch at the original Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies location in Davis, Oklahoma. Let me tell you, these fired pies were no hot pockets. They were fresh, filling, and delicious. One savory pie and half a sweet pie was filling enough.
Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies had a wide selection of both savory and sweet pies, with fillings such as breakfast, pizza, apple, chocolate, potato, and cherry just to name a few. All cooked in peanut oil, the pies were under $5 each with a discount for ordering a dozen. Drinks were at a fair price too, being more in line with a gas station than a restaurant.
With the weather being nice, we ate our pies outside. I enjoyed the pizza and chocolate pies, even with the chocolate pie causing a mess. That’s how you know it’s good, right?
Parking there was a bit of a pain, but overall it was worth the stop to have some Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies.
