Today I took a road trip to explore and hike the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, Oklahoma. While I wrote about the area last fall, Oklahoma has since received enough rain last month to end the years long drought. While there, I took photos of the water, which you can see my favorites above.
I also have to say the place was packed! But there was still plenty of peaceful trails available. Had a nice picnic dinner while there.
On the way to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, I made a stop at Bedré Fine Chocolates because I had to go to the bathroom and I figured, since I was there anyway, I might as well eat some chocolates. Life is so rough, you know? They had samples of their chocolate covered chips and I also bought a meltaway and a chocolate covered Twinkie. All were delicious. Also, the travel center next to it is pretty cool. In a magazine there I something about an interesting place I hadn’t heard about that is now my To-Visit List. 🙂
Before heading home, since we had time, I drove to one of my favorite scenic lookouts, the one for Turner Falls in Davis and captured some new pictures.
