As the 3rd largest Martin Luther King Holiday Parade in the United States, Oklahoma City’s MLK parade attracted tens of thousands of supporters to celebrate the impact of his legacy and to unite our diverse communities further together. The 2017 King Holiday Parade was today, starting at 2:00 pm at N.W. 7th and Broadway Avenue in Automobile Alley.
This year’s theme was “A Time for Change Is Now.” The Oklahoma City Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Coalition had been organizing the parade and related events for 30 years and has made it into not only one of largest but also the most diverse in the country. This year’s parade already had over 100 entries and was over an hour-and-a-half long.
Here is a selection of my favorite photos from this year’s parade.
