You Armored Searobin, You by Jarvix
You Armored Searobin, You” is the first in a series of fish songs I plan to drop in 2021. It’s a kicky lil’ tune about self-care and understanding, but also about the very weird ocean bottom feeder known as the armored searobin, a more thickly plated variant of the regular searobin (40-sec video if you’re curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2Aeck7lKNs). Searobins use fin rays to find food along the ocean floor, but it looks like they’re walking on tiny legs, which is both extraordinary and amusing.
And if you’re reading this, Oklahoma Aquarium, let’s collab! I’ll write a song for any creature you’ve got!
UNITY OKC
#ArtivistsofOKC‘s Mission is to re-define the ideology of creators by changing the narrative of politics, and bringing communities together through Artivism. Therefore through this #UnitySongOKC we are fundraising money for the communities that are leading the fight toward obtaining equity for every human being regardless of race, gender, socio-economic status, sexuality, or any other intersectional identity!
The Artivists of OKC worked with Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt to release “Unity OKC” which provided an opportunity for the local artists and musicians to come together to express art activism through solidarity with Black Lives Matter and support for immigrant and indigenous communities.
