Hello, everyone! I’m Dennis Spielman, the creator of Uncovering Oklahoma, and I am thrilled to launch The Show Starts Now! My unique, Oklahoma-based streaming service is more than just entertainment—it’s a passport to electrifying adventures. Dive headfirst into a world of curated experiences designed to shatter your humdrum routine as we celebrate the extraordinary in the everyday, bringing you closer to inspiring individuals, captivating locales, mesmerizing skills, and unforgettable journeys.
The Show Starts Now will help me continue showcasing awesome people and places while taking my mission to the next level. In addition to an enhanced archive of Uncovering Oklahoma episodes, the streaming service includes a wider variety of content. New shows include Take A Bite with Phi, a food travel series where we go in-depth with restaurants to encourage you to try different places. Visiting Haunts explores the haunted history of locations you can visit. Archiving Contemporary Art gets inside the minds of artists’ exhibitions. These are just a sample of some of the available shows, and there are more in the pipeline as the platform grows.
Having videos on YouTube and social media makes little money for me. Uncovering Oklahoma is a side project I enjoy doing between freelance videography gigs. With the subscription service model, I’ll be less reliant on the day job and move toward being able to hire people to create even more content. In addition to the exclusive videos and 4K enhanced archives, new Uncovering Oklahoma episodes will first air there for two weeks. For example, you’ll find a video on a new Italian restaurant in West Oklahoma City that I haven’t released here yet.
At launch, The Show Starts Now has over 180 videos from 12 series–all in 4K! A monthly subscription costs $5.99, less than a premium coffee, and there’s a discount for yearly memberships. The subscription fees will help support creating more content and expand our reach to include stories outside of Oklahoma.
