Dead People's Stuff

The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition’s Momentum annually features Oklahoma artists ages 30 years and younger, working in diverse media. The exhibition presents a diversified look at the young artistic talent in Oklahoma.

In light of the rapid changes in Oklahoma from COVID-19, the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition’s board and staff have decided to postpone the opening of SLOWMENTUM to the public.

OVAC cares deeply about the health and wellness of our community and because of this, we are postponing the live-streamed curator and Spotlight talks that were scheduled for this weekend as well as asking all of our volunteers to stay home. Slowmentum will not open to the public until at least April 2nd. At that point, we will reassess and follow guidance from the CDC and government leadership.

Last Friday, along with our partner and venue, Dead People’s Stuff, OVAC’s board and staff made the decision to change the format of this year’s event from a 3-day event to a regular exhibition called SLOWMENTUM. While we are not opening to the public, OVAC will create a virtual gallery for audiences to view SLOWMENTUM from the safety of their homes.
